‘Vinyl Remains’ is an audiovisual project indexing the 50 remaining records of a lost collection of 700+ records, collected with great care and passion by ‘slamtheflap’ over the course of his first 20 years as a live performing DJ.
After losing almost his complete record collection in a burglary, he created the ‘Vinyl Remains’ project to cope with his painful loss by embracing ‘what remains’.
He decided to focus on the 50 records that were left and eternalize them by minting these records to the blockchain, so they will live on forever.
These NFTs will be used in his future visual scratch work.

‘Vinyl Remains’ is an audiovisual project, indexing the remaining 50 records of a lost collection of 700+ vinyl records, collected with great care and passion by ‘slamtheflap’ over the course of his first 20 years as a live performing DJ.
Most records were released pre-internet and only exist on vinyl, making them very rare and extremely valuable to him.
Sadly, in the spring of 2020, while the world was in a lockdown due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, he received a phone call that 600 of his records had been stolen during a burglary in his storage space. The situation impacted him deeply and it took him some time to find a way to deal with this loss.
He created the ‘Vinyl Remains’ project to eternalize the 50 remaining records by minting them to the blockchain, so that they can live on forever. These NFTs will also be used as audiovisual assets in his future work.
