Slamtheflap started collecting records in the mid 90's after falling in love with Hip Hop and its DJ culture ‘Turntablism’, where the turntable is used as a musical instrument.
He built a 700+ record collection with great care and passion over the course of his first 20 years as a live performing DJ.
Most records were released pre-internet and only exist on vinyl. They reflected his youth, identity and lifelong passion for music and became his most valuable personal treasure.
Sadly, in the spring of 2020 while the world was in a lockdown due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, he lost 650 records after a studio burglary.
The situation impacted him deeply and it took him some time to find a way to deal with this unfortunate situation.
To cope with his painful loss, he started the 'Vinyl Remains' project to embrace what remains.
He decided to honor the 50 records which were left and eternalize them by minting these records to the blockchain, so they will live on forever as NFTs.
